Karenni Social Development Center, supported by REI
REI (Refugee Empowerment International)is proud to support the Karenni Social Development Center (KSDC). Located in Karenni Refugee Camp #1, in Mae Hong Son Province, Thailand, the KSDC training addresses nearly 70 years of human rights abuses and destruction of environmental systems throughout the Karenni State and Myanmar. Through its educational courses, the KSDC empowers young Karenni refugees to become advocates for nonviolent social change and equips them with the tools they need to build a peaceful, democratic society. Since its formation in 2002, KSDC has trained over 500 human rights and environmental activists.

Originally from New Jersey in America, Gretchen lives in northern Japan on the Oga peninsula where she and her husband run a Zen temple. She hosts mindfulness retreats, classes and workshops in English, as well as traditional ceremonies and activities for the local community. She sells her handmade bento bags, face masks and accessories at her online shop SORAbento. She is living a life focused on creativity, belonging and connection.

Teams by Design BCCJ Masterclass round-up
Earlier this year I ran a “Teams by Design” workshop for BCCJ as a masterclass. BCCJ gave me a write up on their site earlier this year. I touch also on Zoom fatigue which is so relevant during our ongoing battle with the Covid 19 crisis. I invited participants to complete a “constellation,” a tool that offers a visual representation of the current state of their relationship system- this material is adapted from adapted from ORSC™ CRR Global Content.
