In this workshop we are going to explore doors and portals through creative writing.

These could be doors that you are familiar with and have walked through before – perhaps many times, maybe every day, or just that one time. Doors that you don’t have access to. Doors that only you have access to. Doors that you have closed behind you, never to return to again. They could be doors of a more metaphorical or metaphysical nature. Doors of perception, or portals to another realm, another world – real or imaginary/imagined. Is there a door you wish you hadn’t gone through? Is there a door you didn’t but wish you had?

During the course of the 90 minutes workshop, we will read and examine poems on this subject and through a series of prompts and writing exercises explore further.

Let’s see which doors you will discover or rediscover. Which ones will you open and where will they lead you?’
